The VP Academics must be a born again Christian, a member of the Church of the Nazarene. S/he must have some experience of working in an academic environment, must be a good administrator and be willing to teach. S/he must be familiar with policies and requirements of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA); the Council of Higher Education (CHE) and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). S/he must also have some knowledge of the Africa Region Course of Study Advisory Committee (ARCOSAC), the program validating body within the Church of the Nazarene in Africa.
The Vice Principal for Academics shall assume responsibility for the Academic Division and Give leadership to the educational programme and administrative infrastructure, exercising supervision over all academic personnel, curricular activities and shall develop the academic policies in consultation with the Senate.
S/he will be accountable to the Principal for the total administration of the academic division. Is appointed by and is answerable to the Board of Directors/Trustees and must give an annual report to this Board and ensure that all necessary academic information and documentation be available to the Board.
S/he will chair and give report at the monthly Senate, the constituted body through which policy decisions are made, directives determined and through which all divisional activities are executed and co-ordinated and fulfil other requirements stated in the Constitution and Bylaws of the Institution.
S/he will be required to teach a minimum of one module per semester or a maximum of two modules per semester if so required. S/he will oversee the offices of the Registrar, the Chaplain, the Librarian, the BTh and the LSC.
A monthly salary of ±R12 500 after deductions
A housing allowance to the value of R 3 800 per month
21 days annual leave (to be taken during College Vacation)
An annual bonus if and when that can be done
